PROCESS PHILOSOPHIES

PROCESS PHILOSOPHIES, the exhibition program of First Iteration, features video, sound, installation and kinetic works. Several of the exhibiting artists will also be giving presentations as part of the main conference program. All the works in this extensive exhibition program are linked by the philosophy of the artist to process: a generative poiesis.

Tickets for the exhibition program are included for all full conference attendees. It is also possible to purchase tickets for the exhibition without attending the rest of the conference ($15/$10 conc.) Join us for the opening night event on December 1st, where the exhibition program will be officially launched.

The opening night features a special performance: Paragraph 7 of The Great Learning by British Composer Cornelius Cardew . Composed in 1967 this epic work has been a major influence on a number of contempory musicians and composers, due to it's almost magical generation of complexity from a simple set of instructions.

"We're not used to the idea that something so apparently 'designed' should appear without a 'designer'." Brian Eno.
