Purpose ]
Welcome
On behalf of the Government of the State of Victoria, I look
forward to welcoming participants in the World Conference for
Cancer Organisations. The government of this state has a special
focus on cancer through the "Cancer and Heart Offensive". The
central idea of this initiative is coordination and cooperation
among all the relevant parties, non-government and government,
in achieving progress against cancer. It is therefore a great
pleasure to note that the Government of Victoria is the
principal government sponsor of a meeting dedicated to the
problem of planning and organising to defeat cancer in our
communities.
