FIT3084 : Typography
Carefully examine the documents tabulated below from the lecture on Information Design.
What typeface decisions have been made for each of the examples? Why?
If you have a font management tool (e.g. Font Book or Font Manager), open it. Otherwise, open a word-processor document in whatever word processor software you have available. Can you identify the typefaces employed in a few of these examples below from within the list of typefaces you have available? What are the closest typefaces you have?
Have a look at the free fonts availabe online. (For example, http://www.dafont.com/) Try installing a couple on your machine.
What typefaces go together? Try to select a Serif typeface and a Sans Serif typeface that seem to go together well on a single page. Do some web-surfing to find out which typefaces graphic designers like to combine. Why?
