Mundane
as
Australian
suburbia might be, we often do get interesting visitors. This web page contains a selection
of recent
suburban wildlife
pictures of interest.
The
Australian Wood Duck (Chenonetta jubata) is a native
species which has become well adjusted to urban and suburban habitats.
These ducks are frequently found in parks, campuses, and near ponds,
creeks or other still or flowing bodies of water. These photos were
captured at the lake on the Clayton campus of Monash University, in
early September, 2013, using a Sigma AF 400mm f/5.6 APO prime lens on a
Nikon D90.
