The Common Ringtail Possum (Pseudocheirus peregrinus) is in places a frequent occupant of urban areas and grows to a weight of ~1 kg. These noctural arboreal marsupials have been seldom seen in my suburb, but this year have made repeated visits. Much smaller than the brazen Brushtail Possum, the Ringtail Possum is very social, but observed examples have tended often to be shy near people. Imagery produced with a Nikon D7100 either using the Sigma AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro, Sigma AF 100-300mm f/4 EX IF HSM APO, or Sigma AF 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC (OS)* HSM zoom lenses.
