Thrane Cc: Vuk Mandic Subject: link Hi Eric, some information... 1) To get access to LIGO computing clusters, follow the instructions at http://www.lsc-group.phys.uwm.edu/lscdatagrid/doc/gettingstarted.html This will tell you how to get the DOE certificate and how to request accounts on the clusters (request accounts at Caltech, MIT, LHO and LLO). 2) Then, you will want to have access to two repositories: - Matapps repository contains the Matlab code we use in the stochastic searches. See instructions at: http://www.lsc-group.phys.uwm.edu/daswg/projects/matapps.html * EHT on 5/16/2011 * matapps is now on svn. I have trouble checking it out on ldas-pcdev1, so I * use ldas-pcdev2. The whole matapps repository is very large, so I just check * out the modules I need. I suggest: * CrossCorr, PreProcessing, cluster, lib, stamp, utilities, PostProcessing, * Utilities and current * You can browse the different modules here: * https://ligo-vcs.phys.uwm.edu/svn/matapps/packages/stochastic/trunk/PreProcessing - sgwb repository has the documents specific to the stochastic group, including some of the code, papers etc. To get access, contact Stuart Anderson or Phil Ehrens . * EHT on 5/16/2011 * sgwb is still in cvs, but it is moving to svn 3) You will also want access to the stochastic e-mailing list, go to: http://mm.ligo.caltech.edu/mailman/listinfo/stochastic (there were some problems recently with the server, it may not work right away...) 4) To get your laptop to work on campus, you probably want to talk to Graham Allan . 5) To get access to the stochastic ilog (our electronic logbook), follow instructions at http://ldas-sw.ligo.caltech.edu/ilog/ (the log is at Caltech, so your contact is Phil Ehrens). I think this will get you started, there will likely be more as you start going to the sites. It takes a bit of time to get through some of these, so you may want to start as soon as you can. Let me know if you run into problems. Regards, Vuk
