reference
material
The Iteration international conferences on generative systems in the electronic arts have resulted in the production of DATA CD-ROM's, AUDIO CD's and PRINT proceedings. The DATA CD-ROM's contain a summary of the ideas presented at the events, held in 1999 and 2001*, including supporting software, visual and aural material, as well as the full texts of papers, summaries of artist and technical talks, panel sessions, art works, and other material submitted to the conferences, galleries and screenings. The AUDIO CD's contain accepted musical and sound works submitted to the audio/performances at the events. The PRINT proceedings contain hard-copies of the artist talks, panel sessions and papers.
This reference material holds a snapshot of ideas in generative art either side of the Y2K, providing a valuable resource for students, staff, practicing artists and theorists alike. This is especially relevant now as the issues surrounding the production of software for and as art are coming to be dealt with by mainstream art institutions and organizations.
