Dec: We are successful in securing Discovery Project funding from the Australian Research Council for the investigations into the novel electronic and spin properties of inorganic perovskites, in collaboration with Jasieniak and Karel groups at Monash. [Link]


Nov: Chutian Wang and Vallabh Vasudevan both successfully defend their PhD thesis. Congratulations Dr Chutian and Dr Vallabh!


July: Great news – Our group is awarded funding as a part of large consortium in Australian Research Council funded research hub in Advanced Manufacturing of 2D Materials (AM2D). [Link]

Nov: Looks like we have survived Covid-19 pandemic and the following strict lockdown in Melbourne!


Great news – Our group is awarded Discovery Project funding from the Australian Research Council for solid-state precipitates in Aluminium alloys, in collaboration with Bourgeois group at Monash. [Link]


Aug: Recent comprehensive work led by Dr. Mingchao Wang on thermal instability in hybrid perovskite crystals is accepted for publication in J Materials Chemistry A. [Link]


Feb: Excited to see this research on solid-state precipitates in Aluminium alloys, in collaboration with Bourgeois group at Monash published in Nature Communications. [Link]



[2019]


Dec: Our recent work on magnesium battery electrolytes is now accepted in the Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters. Congratulations to Vallabh, Mingchao and Jodie, well done! [Link]


Nov: We say goodbye to Aayush after he successfully defended his thesis, and now moving to U Penn, USA, as a postdoc. Really proud of his research.


Oct: Our recent work with Schiffrin group at Monash on electric field control of molecular charge states in 2D nanoarrays is now online at ACS Nano. [Link]


Our collaborative work on rechargeable magnesium batteries, with Reza Shahbazian-Yassar’s group at University of Illinois, Chicago, is accepted in ACS Applied Energy Materials. [Link]


Aug: Well done, Dr Yuefeng for publishing his spin texture work in npj Quantum Materials. A top journal for the top work! [Link]

This month we also celebrate graduation of our PhD student Zezhong Zhang. Zezhong will begin his postdoc stint in the group of Sandra Van Aert and Pete Nellist at University of Antwerp, Belgium.
