Background: In January 1995, two of our friends, Darren and Kona, eloped while overseas (in San Francisco actually). As part of a farewell for them prior to them going to Cambridge to further their academic careers (Darren at the Sanger center and Kona at the Computer Laboratory), a ceremony was held to compensate for our absence at their wedding.
The ceremony appeared in rec.humor.funny in late 1995.
