Eating in Japan

Rod, Alan, Noriyo (Rod's GF) and Wasinee (ATR co-hacker) eat a traditional lunch on New Year's Day in Rod's very sociable abode. Alan has grabbed the wasabi sauce and the biggest sake cup... is this unusual? You can read a poem I wrote in Japanese (hah!)

One night I decided to eat some fungus for dinner...

and irridescent fish too.
Lots of fish!
My flat still smells like a fish-market.
Me in the kitchen wondering if I can face eating any more rice and fish... of course I can!
A loaf of bread Japanese style... 6 slices of white, sweet bread for 180 yen (about $3 AUD)
A receipt from our family cafe at Nagano-eki. Nice receipt, shame about the coffee. I won't even mention the egg(!?) pastry. The price? Well you can read that for yourself and do the conversion.
