Of interest to me more than anybody else I expect. (Updated 20/01/2001)
The view from my (fifth floor with no elevator) flat in Takanohara before all the leaves went south for the winter. |
The
same view (in greyscale) swapping the leaves for a 7th Jan. snowfall.
Sadly, this snow has meant the cancellation of Nara's Wakakusayama hill-burning: the Ushi-oni (cow demons) will run free this year. Most disappointing, I was looking forward to the event :-( |
A
postcard I bought at the Hokusai museum in Obuse... some gorgeous pictures
there!

|
An
"I climbed Komagatake" pin badge. Komagatake is the highest
peak in the Chuo Alps. It was (very) windy and (very, very) cold! But
the view was astonishing.
|
A
section of the map of Komagatake... yes, it took me awhile to figure it
out!
|
...talking
of mountains, here's one on TV. The guy in the background in the cool
outfit and the hat is the judge. I love the enthralled faces of the crowd.
