Simone gave birth to a baby boy called "Tane" in 1998!
I received this mail in July 2000. I sent a short reply with a couple of friendly questions but I never received a reply back. I assume she must be busy with Tane.

I have just viewed your pages on me and thought you might like an update! I had a baby called Tane in 1998 and blissfully took two years off work to give him all my attention , apart from the odd appearance here and there. I moved to Melbourne a couple of months ago and have been working on Blue Heelers which is great. My email adress is [deleted]@aol.com
At the end of 1996 I received email from Simone. It appears she and her agent were browsing the WWW and discovered my page. Here is what she had to say:

Over to Simone - Well, well, well. When did the front page get changed from "awful" to Australian show PACIFIC DRIVE? (PS I saw awful there last week - Simone's publicist) You should get a link to the PAC DRIVE page - www.village.com.au/pacificdrive. I'm still in shock at what I've just seen. In the future, if you want to check any details with me, you can email me care of the pacdrive site. I'll be watching you!!! Thank you for your obvious enthusiasm - I guess I should be flattered! Simone
I replied, asking her for information for the page. This was just before Christmas 1996. I received this reply:

I have been asked (read "ordered") by Karen-Jane Eyre (Editor-in-chief, Studio Magazines) to remove the scans from Black+White magazine due to it being a violation of their (or the photographer Andrew Steinman's) copyright.
Here was her original email:
Date: Mon, 09 Aug 1999 14:59:45 +1000 From: "Internet Mac" <ed@studio.com.au> Subject: Simone Buchanan To: torsten@cs.monash.edu.au X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express for Macintosh - 4.01 (295) Dear Torsten, Please be advised that we strongly consider your usage of Simone Buchanan's images on your website as a severe breach of our copyright. Your failure to remove the said images from your site will result in immediate legal action. Please treat this correspondence as a letter of demand. Yours faithfully, Karen-Jane Eyre Editor
As this was very unclear, here was my reply:

You have not identified who you are in any way whatsoever. The images on my site come from a large variety of sources and I doubt you could claim copyright to all of them. Your email has been too vague and unprofessional for me to take it seriously at this point. --Torsten
And her response...
From: "Internet Mac"Subject: Images of Simone Buchanan from Black+white #21 by Andrew Steinman To: torsten@cs.monash.edu.au X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express for Macintosh - 4.01 (295) Dear Torsten, Please be advised that your failure to remove the above images from your website will result in immediate legal action. As a result I have removed the links to the images.
