:: CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

All submissions will be reviewed by the appropriate THIRD ITERATION committee or review panel, not only for quality, but also for relevance to the conference themes. Accepted submissions will be published in the conference documentation as detailed below.

Selected key works will be previewed online for registered conference attendees in order to promote continuing discussion and to enable contributors to contact one another prior to the event.

:: PAPERS

Scholarly papers for peer review and presentation.

- Deadline for submission of review copy Friday 9th September 2005

- Notification of acceptance Friday 7th October 2005

- Deadline for camera-ready copy Friday 28th October 2005

Authors intending to submit a paper for peer review and presentation at the conference must submit the complete paper by the due date above. If accepted for inclusion in THIRD ITERATION, camera-ready copies of the paper must then be submitted by the final date above.

Papers must not exceed 10 pages in length including diagrams and appendices. Papers should be prefaced with a title page listing the paper title, author(s) name and affiliation, an abstract of not more than 500 words and a list of keywords. Ensure that the relevance of the paper to the conference is made clear in the abstract. Please see below for paper submission format requirements.

:: TECHNICAL & ARTISTS TALKS

Presentations by artists and researchers on their work.

- Deadline for submission of review copy Friday 9th September 2005

- Notification of acceptance Friday 7th October 2005

- Deadline for camera-ready copy Friday 28th October 2005

Submit an outline/abstract of no more than 1000 words on your presentation. Please also include biography/CV, plus relevant visual, aural, or software material in digital format suitable for publication.

:: ARTWORKS

Software, installation, video, audio, and other forms. Works to be included/documented on the THIRD ITERATION DVD-ROM.

The documentation and any software for accepted works will be published on the conference DVD-ROM provided it is submitted in digital format.

- Deadline for submission of works Friday 16th September 2005

- Notification of acceptance Friday 14th October 2005

- Deadline for disc-ready material Friday 28th October 2005

Supporting visual, aural or software material must be submitted for these forms of work in digital format. Also submit a brief summary describing the work and its relevance to the conference and an artist's biography of not more than 500 words. Works that use generative processes and/or address the themes of the conference will be considered.

For software material please include detailed instructions of how to operate the work (including specific hardware/software requirements). All audio, including multi-channel audio, must be submitted as stereo audio on CD for review purposes.

:: PAPER SUBMISSIONS

***Submission of text must be in electronic form. Proposals, full papers, biographies etc. raw source should be in RTF or LaTeX formats, plus a PDF version.***

Please note that we aim to publish the conference proceedings in both printed and on-line/CD-ROM form.

11pt Times. List references in the order they appear in the text. Indicate references in the text by numbering them in the order they appear. For example: [1], [2,3] or [4 pp76-77] as appropriate.
Footnotes
9pt Times. Number footnotes 1,2... n from the start to the finish of the document. Footnotes should start with a capital letter and end with one of the following punctuation marks .!?

If you wish to have your materials returned following the production of the THIRD ITERATION documentation, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope of appropriate size.

THIRD ITERATION is not responsible for any loss or damage of material during transit. THIRD ITERATION will take every care with submitted material once it arrives but makes no guarantee about the safe-keeping of submitted material. Please do not send master/original copies of irreplaceable works.

:: SUBMITTING FROM OUTSIDE AUSTRALIA

Submissions from outside Australia may encounter customs delays. Please ensure adequate time if sending material through the international mail system. We recommend the use of an international courier for fastest delivery. Please mark all international submissions "Educational material only. No commercial value", the conference will not pay for tariffs or customs charges incurred.
