MORPHOGENESIS SERIES
A series of evolved digital
still images based on native Australian flora
© 2001 – 2004 Jon McCormack.
The Morphogenesis Series is a collection of digital still images created using custom computer software developed by the artist. A rule-based developmental model (see publications) is used to model the growth and form of selected native Australian species. These models are then subject to mutation and evolutionary processes, leading to strange, yet familiar models of archetypal Australian flora. The software generates highly detailed and complex geometric models which are rendered as digital images. These images are then printed as lightjet prints on archival photo media. A limited number of prints are available for sale. For purchase enquiries please contact Novamedia Arts. A
pdf file documents the series.
