Q. Where can I find out more about your artwork? A. A number of my artworks are documented on the DVD that comes with the book Impossible Nature: the art of Jon McCormack, available for purchase on-line from the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) in Melbourne.
Q. Where can I buy some of your artwork? A. Please contact Novamedia Arts who distribute and handle sales of my artwork.
Q. Can I get a high-resolution copy of an image from one of your web pages? A. Hi-resolution images are available for media or academic use. Images can only be used in relation to information, criticism or comment about the work itself. Hi-resolution images can be supplied on CD-ROM or downloaded via ftp. Please contact me by email to request copies.
Q. Where can I see the interactive versions of Turbulence and Eden? A. Please check the resources section for any current exhibitions.
Q. What's happening with your public art project at Federation Square in Melbourne? A. After more than two years development, research, prototyping, and software construction, Federation Square management withdrew funding for the project. It's current status is "on hold", pending sponsorship. It is now, unfortunately, highly unlikely to be realised at Federation Square.
Q. What are you working on at the moment? A. See the research and teaching sections...
Q. Can I use the software you have developed for your projects? A. A lot of the software developed for projects is open source and will be placed on the CEMA web site in the near future. It includes plug-ins and stand-alone software for generative art.
Q. I am interested in a career in the kind of things you do. What should I study? What sort of university course should I do? A. I studied mathematics, computer science, and film making. If you are interested in computing then an undergraduate degree in Computer Science is a possibility. There are many courses in "new media" and "electronic media" art and design.
For Monash University offerings in this area see the courses pages for Computer Science and Art & Design.
Q. What is CEMA? A. Centre for Electronic Media Art the research group that I started and am part of. It has members from Computer Science, Art & Design and the School of Music. Here's the web page.
Q. What are the Iteration conferences? A. A series of conferences and exhibitions on generative systems organised by myself and Alan Dorin. First Iteration was in December 1999 and Second Iteration December 2001. Third Iteration will be held in Late November 2005. Here's the web page. Last modified: February 17, 2008 3:55 PM
